Wilders Gaining Support

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/8549155.stm

“A party that calls Islam a backward religion, wants a ban on headscarves in public life and has compared the Koran to Hitler's Mein Kampf has made major gains in local elections in the Netherlands.
Geert Wilders' Freedom Party (PVV) has become the biggest party in the medium-sized city of Almere, and the second biggest in the political capital of the Netherlands, The Hague.”
T
he results of these elections are a good reminder that Europe isn’t always the ideal beacon of tolerance that Liberals make it out to be.
I support Mr. Wilders right to free speech but, the fact that he has made no efforts against Christianity or Judaism indicate that the man is driven by a hatred for one religion over the others. Christians and Jews in the West often complain of how their faiths are under assault yet are unable to see the hypocrisy of not speaking out against the words of Mr. Wilders, likely going so far as to agree with his views on Islam.
