Pope Doesn't Like that Spain is Giving more People Rights

Wearing a big pointy hat shouldn’t allow you to command respect, especially when you promote an ideology of intolerance.

“The Pope will make a visit to Spain in November to challenge what the Vatican sees as the “rampant secularism” of the Zapatero Government.

The Church has looked on angrily as the socialist Government has increasingly sidelined and ignored it. Last month saw the latest in a series of modernising and progressive legislative moves when a law was passed easing access to abortion. Last year, gay marriage was legalised and there have been moves to reduce the amount of money that the state pays to the church under the concordat. Fast track divorce has also been brought in.”

Wow! According to the Pope increasing the rights and freedoms of women, gays, and people in general is evil “rampant secularism” which must be stopped. Truly this is a sign of the backwards beliefs held by this Pope.

“Spain’s health ministry mounted a high-profile challenge to controversial remarks by Pope Benedict during a trip to Africa last year when he said condoms aggravated efforts to battle against AIDS. It said it would send one million condoms to Africa, which has been worst hit by the disease.”

It’s good to see government officials standing up to the Vatican bully and realizing that his ideas have no place in a modern society.

“Ratzinger condemned the “excessive exaltation of the freedom of the individual”

There you have it, the official doctrine of the Pope and the Catholic Church is: freedom is bad and we can’t allow it. Lucky for the rest of us, most of the world outside of the Vatican is opposed to the implementation of a theocracy.
