Scientists Being Threatened By the Deniers

Climate change deniers are proving their irrationality by threatening the lives of climate scientists, rather than participating in an intellectual debate.

“Climate scientists are just trying to do their jobs, he says, but they now find themselves subject to ferocious attacks on their work, reputation and even their lives.

"I have hundreds of threatening emails," says Stanford University's Stephen Schneider, one of the United States' foremost climatologists and author of Science as a Contact Sport, a book about the battle to inform the public about global warming. "It's ugly death threat stuff. You belong in jail. You should be executed. It never happened before a year ago - now it's off the charts. "

Schneider is concerned that a climatologist could actually get killed. He says another climatologist, Ben Santer at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, was recently awakened in the middle of the night by his doorbell only to find a dead animal cut to pieces on his porch and a Hummer speeding away into the night.
It would be comical if these climate change deniers weren't dead serious and the stakes so high.”

This isn’t rational thinking, this is madness.
