Vatican Doubts Miracle of John Paul II

http://www.earthtimes.org/articles/show/312517,report-john-paul-iis-sainthood-snagged-by-doubts-over-miracle.html

“The process to make Pope John Paul II a saint has been delayed by the decision of a Vatican medical commission not to recognize an alleged miracle attributed to the late pontiff, an Italian newspaper reported Thursday. John Paul, who died in 2005, is currently a candidate for beatification, the last step before being canonised, or recognised as a saint by the Catholic Church.”

Poor Pope John Paul II. Mother Teresa’s ‘miracle’ was shown to be complete and utter bullshit and she still reached sainthood. What’s a Pope got to do to get some recognition?

“According to the website of Rome-based daily, La Repubblica, the Vatican medical commission has rejected the case involving a French nun who was apparently cured from Parkinson's disease after she prayed to him to ask for God's help.”

How is this any more absurd than the woman who said a beam of light emitted from a picture of Mother Teresa and healed her non-existent cancer? (http://www.slate.com/id/2090083/).

I’m probably giving the Vatican medical commission too much credit but maybe they realized that prayer cannot cure a disease that has no cure (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parkinson%27s_disease#Treatment).
If that’s the case, then hopefully they’ll take it one step further and declare that prayer and miracles cannot cure anything.

As for John Paul II, he hardly behaved the way we would expect a saint to.

““The legacy of Pope John Paul II is vibrant and extraordinary, yet painfully inconsistent. The contradiction in his legacy lies in his teaching and actions on the dignity of women. John Paul II called for women to be included as decision makers in secular governments. However, when it came to bringing women into the decision making bodies of his church, he slammed the door in our faces, barring us from ordination and locking the door by stating the discussion about women’s ordination is closed.” (Taylor, Aisha (4 April 2005). "Young Catholic Feminists Compare Legacy of MLK and John Paul II". © 2008 Women's Ordination Conference. http://www.womensordination.org/content/view/121/42/. Retrieved 10 January 2009.)

“Painfully inconsistent” that hardly sounds like the mind of a holier-than-thou saint. It proves the man was human, nothing more.
He opposed the use of condoms. ("Catholic Church to Ease Ban on Condom Use". © 2006, 2009 Deutsche Welle. 24 April 2006. http://www.dw-world.de/dw/article/0,2144,1979145,00.html. Retrieved 12 January 2009.0). Ensuring a spread of HIV that could have been prevented if it weren’t for the promoting of senseless dogma.
I find it disgraceful that these criticisms will likely go unnoticed once the Vatican declares that a posthumous “miracle” was performed.
