No Consensus?

Claim: A sheer number of scientists are rallying against a major intervention to stop carbon dioxide.

False: “According to the results of a one-time questionnaire-based statistical survey published by the University of Illinois, with 3146 individuals completing the survey, 97% of the actively publishing climate scientists (as opposed to the scientists who are not publishing actively) agree that human activity, such as flue gas emissions from fossil fuel combustion and deforestation, is a significant contributing factor to global climate change” (Peter T. Doran and Maggie Kendall Zimmerman (2009). "Examining the Scientific Consensus on Climate Change". University of Illinois at Chicago. http://tigger.uic.edu/~pdoran/012009_Doran_final.pdf. Retrieved 2009-12-21. ).

Rush says that, “There are about 450 academic peer reviewed journal articles questioning the importance of man-made global warming.” I will take Rush’s word on this one. However, it still stands that the vast majority are in consensus, man-made global warming is real and it is a concern.
