The Vatican is run by bigoted assholes, no surprise there.
“On Monday, the Vatican's Secretary of State Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone said it was homosexuality that caused pedophilia, and not celibacy.
Bertone made the comments in Chile, where one of the Church's highest profile sex abuse cases involves a priest having sex with young girls.
"Many psychologists and psychiatrists have demonstrated that there is no relation between celibacy and pedophilia. But many others have demonstrated, I have been told recently, that there is a relation between homosexuality and pedophilia. That is true," he told a news conference. "That is the problem."”
Bigots aren’t known for their intelligence but, what a fucking moron. Does Bertone even know what homosexuality means? If so, how does he rationalize a male raping a young girl? On second thought, I take that back. It’s foolish of me to expect a Vatican priest to think in any sort of rational manner. This statement is more proof that the Vatican is an institution interested in spreading the dogma of hatred, rather than trying to make real efforts to right its wrongs. Instead, it seeks to blame those it does not agree with it for the abuse and rape of children.
