Liberal Leadership

I'll make this quick because I have to head off to take care of some work. I must say I am very concerned about the future of the Liberal party, leadership is not the only issue this party is facing. The entire party platform has to be rewritten. Face it guys you have no holdings in the West and if you ever want to get in power you better start getting friendly to the West. Further, while I do support the carbon tax idea, in a time of high gas prices (though economic woes seem to have changed that for the time being), telling people they will have to pay more for vaguely described green technologies, is a tough sell in the world of sound bite politics. Nowadays the electorate is dominated by that moronic lowest-common denominator who doesn't want to hear complex policy proposals but votes on the basis of, well that guy is gonna rise all my taxes and doesn't speak English very well so I won't vote for him. The Liberals would do best to choose someone who can energize the base once again, who can put forward effective policy ideas, while communicating in a way the public can understand, and be prepared for attacks that over simplify the idea.
